Where the Excitement Begins!
Greater Vernon Arenas

This recreational skating program is based on a system of learning through progressive training
with an emphasis on fun and participation. The RecSkate program is not a badge incentive
program. We emphasize the importance of comprehensive feedback through the use of
progress cards. Upon completion of Level 5, skaters will receive a special personalized
RecSkate award to recognize their accomplishment in the Vernon RecSkate program. The
program is designed for both boys and girls and is an excellent way to learn the fundamentals
to start any career in hockey, ringette or figure skating. Please note that helmets, gloves,
wind/snow pants are mandatory for all RecSkate programs.

This new non-contact league is perfect for those players not
ready or able to play minor hockey and also for those who just
want to have fun. The format ensures all players will touch the puck more often and get an abundance of ice time to develop their offensive and defensive skills. All players will be placed onto a team on the first day and will receive a team jersey.
Coaches and referees needed. We will offer a 50% discount on the registration of any child whose parents are selected.
Programs are on the Centennial Outdoor Rink.
